Companies in Helsinki are Interested in Artificial Intelligence

Companies have an interest in artificial intelligence introduction, even though its active utilization in everyday business is still small, according to a survey by the Helsinki Region Chamber of Commerce about cloud services and artificial intelligence (AI) in companies.

The survey conducted jointly by the Helsinki Region Chamber of Commerce and Business College Helsinki shows that companies have at their disposal a variety of cloud services for the company’s internal services, such as financial management, sales, and information management. According to the survey, circa 60% of the companies indicated that AI is not yet used in business and its development. However, there is a strong interest in using it in the future, as 83.7% of respondents mentioned they would use AI in their future business and service solutions.

The survey was conducted in early 2020 and was directed to small or medium-sized companies in Helsinki. A total of 44 companies responded to the survey.

This survey is being carried out in the five countries participating in the DIHUB project was will support the next stages of the project. Five digital services hubs will be created for students to develop cloud-based technology services for businesses, supported by teachers and tutors. Students are provided with the design, development and production of specialized training in cloud-based services in a business environment (Work-based learning). A local service hub will be created on Helsinki Business College and Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences campus.

Business College acts as the project leader and the Helsinki Region Chamber of Commerce is involved in speeding up the business cooperation. During the spring of 2020 we will be looking for companies who want to design and develop their own cloud-based artificial intelligence solutions.
